Showcase Your Roots Call For Talent!

Needed: Singers, spoken word artists, dancers, models, instrumentalists, emcees
Who: Open to uWaterloo students, Laurier students, and community members of all cultures
Why: Black History Month celebrations at the University of Waterloo in February 2012 will include a fashion show (Rock Your Roots) and talent showcase (Showcase Your Roots)

We believe that Black History Month is a time that should be celebrated amongst the community. Our events are designed to display the talent of individuals young and old with our families and friends, peers and professors, and anyone in between. Artists of all backgrounds and genres are welcome to audition. Photos from last year's showcase can be found online at http://onewaterloo.feds.ca/events

INFORMATION

Performers must audition with the piece that they will be performing in the show.
The audition room will be equipped with a cd player.
Performers of all backgrounds, identities, and genres are invited to audition.
Showcase Your Roots caters to an all ages audience.
Audition results will be communicated in January.
Accepted performers will be asked to consent to photo/video coverage of their performance for future use by One Waterloo.
Accepted performers will be expected to submit a biography and picture for promotional purposes in a timely manner.
Performers will be expected to attend scheduled rehearsals and sound checks as needed.
Please note that the audition deadline has been extended to Monday January 16th. The final in-person audition session will take place Monday January 16th from 5:00pm - 8:00pm in Room 2105B, uWaterloo Student Life Center.
